We are immensely proud of our work in changing behaviours, attitudes, laws and animals’ lives over the past 200 years and the incredible progress made in recent times. This is a key and impactful time to be leading the team as the Chief Executive as our work is far from done.
The times we’re living through – climate change, factory farming, war, and a cost-of-living crisis – demand an urgent response. As the world changes and the threats facing animals mount, we must rise to meet them. These issues are complex, they cross borders and sectors and can’t be solved in isolation. We need a strong leader to deliver our strategy, ‘Together for animal welfare’, to inspire individuals, partners and industries to play their role in improving animals’ lives.
We’ve achieved so much over the past 200 years and we are firmly focused on the future.
We are searching for a dynamic and bold Chief Executive to face these challenges head on and help us in our mission to change the way society thinks, feels and acts towards animals.
The RSPCA has been undertaking a seismic transformation, modernising leadership, culture and governance. We have seen a turnaround in long-standing financial deficits into a sustainable financial position. We have focused our vital, frontline specialist team on prioritising rescuing animals who need us most – those experiencing cruelty and neglect. Our bold new brand, encouraging society to rethink its relationship with animals of all kinds, is galvanising support from new supporters and building public trust. It is rallying a million-strong movement to take action. Because a world that’s better for animals is better for us all.
To build upon our strong foundations and mobilise new audiences – including younger generations, thought leaders, and industries – to join our movement we’re looking for a transformational leader.
Our next Chief Executive must have the vision, leadership and determination to keep animal welfare on the agenda, and establish it as one of the most important causes of our time, and make us a powerful voice for animals. You should have a proven track record of building strong partnerships, inspiring teams, and navigating complex challenges with grit and resilience. With your exceptional leadership, we will transform the way society thinks, feels, and acts towards animals, forever.
